Nice to meet you

Postby lisa121268 » Sun Mar 27, 2016 1:50 am

I wanted to introduce myself
Hi my name is Lisa and I am just a regular college student. So I'm going to admit I don't know much about yaoi (I constantly mix up seme/uke) but I really enjoyed playing the demo to this game and decided to back it. I really want to know more about Yaoi so if any of you can help me by explaining some things to me or recommending me some really good Yaoi books, I'll be grateful. I really love manga and visual novels and I spend most of my time usually reading one or the other. Besides that I love music and been playing the xylophone/marimba for over eight years. I found this project by accident and I'm really glad I did. I can't wait to be a part of this community.

See you all soon :)

Hiya Lisa, glad to have you with us! I'm sure that there are many of us who will be more than happy to educate you in the wonderful ways of yaoi.
When you say yaoi books, do you mean like manga to buy or like fan translated manga? I read most of my stuff online, so I'd have no idea what's physically out there.
(Btw, used to have trouble with the seme/uke thing too, until I realized 'uke' starts with u, just like 'under'. Now I know easiely uke means bottom ((or under)) and seme must be top. Hope that helps <3  )

I read mostly online too but I have no problem with either. Thanks for explaining uke and seme to me. I'm going to do my best to remember that. It was imitating to write that post since everyone else seem to be a part of the fandom for years and I felt like a baby in comparison. So thank you!

Everybody starts somewhere! <3
Let me think... well it would depend on the sort of things you're into. I read everything off of Mangahere.com, so anything I suggest could be found there. If you like your yaoi with a fantasy twist, I'd say Crimson Spell. If you're more into cutesy/comedy stuff, I'd recommend Love Stage!! or Konya mo Nemurenai. If you're more into things that will pull on all your feels, I'd go with Ten Count or even Let Dai (which is technically manhwa, or Korean comics.)
Hope that gives you some jumping off points. :-)

You're a really nice person. I can't wait to read them. I'm really into cutesy/comedy stuff so I think I'm going to start with Konya mo Nemurenai first :)

Bwahaha, nice is not a word you would usually use to describe someone who is dead set on corrupting you!
Seriously though, always glad to help.

When you put it that way it doesn't sound nice but you replying to my post really did put me at ease. So accept my compliment!

Glad to meet you! Thank you for donating to help back the game, and I hope you have a good time in the forums here!

If you're looking for cute and/or comedic BL manga, I can recommend a few:

Doukyuusei, by Nakamura Asumiko
Itoshi no Nekokke, by Kumota Haruko (OK, parts of it are tragic, BUT it's mostly very funny and sweet!)
Recipe no Ouji-sama, by Junko
Ai ga Love Shite You nanosa, by Jaryuu Dokuro

aaand one of my personal favorites, Ikemen-kun to Saenai-kun, by Hideyoshico!
